Vernisha Crawford
TOPIC: Intergenerational Wellness: A Trauma Informed Workplace
Vernisha Crawford is deeply involved in trauma-informed care as the CEO of the Trauma Informed Institute. Her academic journey commenced at UNC Charlotte, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, then a Master's Degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. She is also currently pursuing a Ph.D. in General Psychology with a specialization in Trauma & Disaster Relief. Above all, she considers motherhood her most profound source of learning. She is the Founder of the BYE Foundation, an organization advocating for a trauma-informed approach to addressing equity gaps in research and wellness. She has been invited as a guest facilitator at Davidson College, Belmont, Vanderbilt, and Fisk Universities. She also serves on various boards, including the Early Childhood Executive Committee for Mecklenburg County, the NC ACES Task Force Advisory Board, NC Juvenile Justice Behavioral Health Committee, and the Charlotte Lab School Board. In her free time, she works on her passion project, @DanceHerSize, where she teaches women and girls about the eight dimensions of wellness through dance and exercise.
