TOPIC: How to Hack Your Humanities Education
Kennedy Brooks is a fourth-year student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is an unyielding believer in the power of rhetoric to change the world and has rooted her education firmly in the liberal arts in pursuit of being an acting agent in that aforementioned change. Through the performing arts and direct address, she has developed a performance paradigm in pursuit of using storytelling to connect minds across community and cultural lines. Whether she is presenting at a research conference, winning crowns in a pageant, acting as a council member for the National Humanities Center, or addressing the audience at a National Speech and Debate tournament, she aims to approach every endeavor with the same spirit of human-centeredness that guides her education.
