TOPIC: Why the American Dream Dies with First Gen Immigrant Children

Baldomero otherwise known as "Baldy" by his friends and peers, is a student at UNC Charlotte studying Operations and Supply Chain management. He served for 6 years in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and has deployed to places like Africa, Europe, and assisted in Operation Allies Welcome for the Afghan refugees. Baldy is the son of two undocumented immigrants from Mexico and thanks to his service and sister, his mother is on her way to citizenship.

Baldy is interested in supply chains, community issues within minority groups, and education issues in the country. To battle the issues, he has made the Elmore Brown Leadership Scholarship which awards a school leader in Garinger High School and hopes to bring solutions to the issues around Charlotte and the country.
