Kendra Jason
Kendra is a sociologist of work and inequality with over 20 years of expertise in organizational behavior, management, inequality and work. Kendra Jason is an interdisciplinary health disparities scholar who examines individual level factors, contextual level factors (i.e. the workplace), and life events that may influence the relationship between health and desired workforce participation for older workers. Her program of research seeks to identify contributing factors to health disparities by examining the links between belonging, workforce behaviors, practices, and care processes.
Kendra has over 30 publications within journals, technical reports, book chapters, and teaching outlets. Kendra has held administrative roles at UNC Charlotte as the Executive Fellow for Strategic Initiatives in the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences. It was in this role where she was responsible for serving as the strategic leader for increasing faculty, staff and students’ sense of belonging across the university. I have a 2025 publication titled, “Understanding Sense of Belonging of Faculty and Staff in Higher Education”. Finally, Kendra owns a consultancy called, Work 4 Change, where she has embedded her approach to combat client experiences related to community in the workplace, with strategies that promote workplace sense of belonging.
